The correct option is B 4 km/hr Let us assume that the man walks at a speed of xkmph
Then the time taken by the man to complete the journey is t=48x (∵time=distancespeed)
Now in the second case, t′=t−3 and x′=x+2.
Then,
t−4=48x+2
⇒t−48x+2=4
⇒48x−48x+2=4
⇒96x(x+2)=4
⇒x2+2x=24
⇒x2+2x−24=0
