Let the velocity of boat w.r.t river be Vbt,


And, let the speed of the river be Vr.

In order to cross the river with the shortest path, the net horizontal component of velocity of boat w.r.t ground must be 0.

VbtsinθVr=0

sinθ=VrVbt

According to question,

Vbt=23Vr

sinθ=32

θ=60

Hence, required angle,

ϕ=90+θ

=90+60

=150

Hence, option (d) is the correct answer.
