Case:1 For minimum time

The time is given as,

t1=dv

10=dv (1)

The drift is given as,

u×t1=120

u×(10×60)=120

u=15m/s

Case:1 For the shortest route

Let the angle with the river flow is A.

The time is given as,

t2=dvsinA

12.5=dv2u2 (2)

Divide equation (2) in (1)

1012.5=dv×dv2u2

45=  1125v2

v=13m/s

v=20m/min

The velocity of the boat with respect to water is 20m/min.
