A married woman has three daughters. Her husband blames her for her inability to give birth to a male child. The husband's claim is right.
False
A woman is not responsible for the gender of her child. The gender of the child is decided by the type of male gamete from the father which fuses with the female egg from the mother to form the zygote. In humans, sex determination is of XX-XY type, i.e XX is female and XY is male. This means that a woman can produce eggs of only one type( containing X sex chromosome) whereas a male can produce two types of sperms (containing either X or Y sex chromosome). The sex of the baby depends on which type of sperm fuses with the egg. If Y-containing sperm fuses with egg then the resulting baby will have XY combination and will be male. Similarly, if X containing sperm fuses with the egg, the resulting baby will have XX combination and will be female. Thus a man is responsible for the gender of the child.
