Step 1: Given data

Mass of moving body is m1=20kg

Velocity of moving mass v1=10ms-1

Mass of stationary body m2=5kg

Velocity of stationary mass v2=0ms-1

Step 2: Finding the velocity of combined mass

After collision the two masses stick together, m=m1+m2=20+5=25kg and considering its velocity will be vms-1

Applying Conservation of momentum,

m1×v1+m2×v2=m×v20×10+5×0=25×vv=20025v=8ms-1

Step 3: Finding the kinetic energy of composite mass

Kineticenergyofcompositemass=12mv2

=12×25×82=800J

Thus, the kinetic energy of the composite mass will be800J
