The emperical formula is thus MCl3
Emperical formula weight = 56 +35.5×3 = 162.5
Molecular weight =2×V.D = 2×162.5 = 325
n =molecularweightempericalweight = 325162.5 = 2
Molecular formula = n × emperical formula = 2 × MCl3 = M2Cl6
