Metal M is copper.It is found in nature as Cu2S.
It is extracted from its sulphide ore just by heating in air.
The reaction is as follows-
2Cu2S + O2 -------> 2Cu2O(s) + 2SO2 (g)
2Cu2O + Cu2S -------> 6Cu(s) + SO2 (g)
C) Metals such as IRON do not react with cold water as well as hot water but reacts with steam to give its respective oxide and hydrogen gas.
3Fe (s) + 4 H2O(g) ------> Fe3O4(aq) +4H2(g)
