Electric Potential at a Point in Space Due to a Point Charge Q
A metal wire ...
Question
A metal wire is bent information circle of radius 10cm. It is given a charge of 200 x 10-6 C which spreads uniformly . Calculate the potential at its centre
Open in App
Solution
The potential at the center of the circular wire is simply,
V = kq/r
Where,
k = 9 × 10^9 Nm2/C2
q = 200 × 10^-6 C
r = 10 cm = 0.1 m
Therefore, V = (9 × 10^9)( 200 × 10^-6)/(0.1) = 1.8 × 10^7 V
