Given:
Mass of metallic ball; m1=20 kg
Mass of plastic ball;m2=5 g=5×103 kg
Initial velocity of metalic ball;u1=5 m/s
Initial velocity of plastic ball;u2=0 m/s

Let final velocity of plastic ball is v2.
From the concept of collision we know,
m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2
(m1×5)+(m2×0)=m1v1+m2v2
Divide above equation by m1
5=v1+m2m1v2
As, m2m1=5200000
v1=5 m/s(1)

As we know,
u1u2=v2v1
5=v25
v2=10 m/s
