A metallic sheet is of rectangular shape with dimensions $48$ m $\times$ $36$ m. From each of its corners, a square is cut off so as to make an open box. If the length of the square is $8$ m, then find the volume of the box.

Volume of box $=l\times b\times h$

From the diagram

$l=48-2\left(8\right)$ $\because$ Two square formed side

$=32m$

$b=36-2\left(8\right)$

$=20m$

Also $h=8m$ from question

$\therefore$ Volume $=32\times 20\times 8$

$=5120m^3$
