A milkman purchases milk at the rate of ₹12 per litre and then mixes 25% water to it. Find his profit %, if he sells the mixture at ₹ 15 per litre.
56.25%
Given that milk was purchased at the rate of ₹ 12 per litre.
Let the number of litres of milk purchased be x.
So, CP=₹12x
Given 25% water is mixed to the milk.
Hence, the quantity of milk after mixing water =x+x4=5x4 litres
Hence, SP of 5x4litres of milk =15×5x4=₹ 18.75x
It can be seen that SP>CP, so it is a profit.
Profit =18.75x−12x=₹ 6.75x
So, profit %=(ProfitCP)×=(6.75x12x)×100=56.25%
