The correct option is B

Given that milk was purchased at the rate of $R s .12$ per litre.

Let the number of litres of milk purchased be x.

So, $C P = R s .12 x$

Given $25 %$ water is mixed to the milk.

Hence the quantity of milk after mixing water
$= x + \frac{x}{4} = \frac{5 x}{4} l i t r e s$

Hence, SP of $\frac{5 x}{4}$ of mil
k $= 15 \times \frac{5 x}{4}$
$= R s .18 .75 x$

It can be seen that SP>CP, so it is a profit.
$P r o f i t = 18.75 x - 12 x = R s . 6.75 x$
$S o, p r o f i t % = (\frac{P r o f i t}{C P}) \times 100 = (\frac{6.75 x}{12 x}) \times 100$
$= 56.25 %$
