Solution

As the milkman made the gain of 5% while selling one buffalo, so if Rs100 is the C.P. of the buffalo, then the S.P. will be 105.

The C.P. of one buffalo will be,

C.P.=20000×100105

=Rs19047.62

As the milkman made the loss of 10% while selling one buffalo, so if Rs100 is the C.P. of the buffalo, then the S.P. will be 90.

The C.P. of one buffalo will be,

C.P.=20000×10090

=Rs22222.22

TotalC.P.=Rs19407.62+Rs22222.22

=Rs41269.84

TotalS.P.=Rs20000+Rs20000

=Rs40000

Then the loss of the milkman is,

Loss=Rs41269.84Rs40000

=Rs1269.84
