As benzene and chloroform have different boiling points therefore they can be separated by distillation method.
Distillation is the process by which liquid mixture can be separated by boiling and condensation.
The boiling point of benzene is 80o and chloroform is 61.3o. If we distill them by using water bath at 62o65o , then chloroform will vapourise and it can be condensed and collected first. Benzene remains behind in the distillation flask.
