A mixture contains alcohol and water in the ratio 4:3. If 5litres of water is added to the mixture, the ratio becomes 4:5. Find the quantity of alcohol in the given mixture.

The correct option is D 10Ltr
Let us assume that quantity of alcohol =4x and quantity of water=3x
Now he added 5 litres of water
So 4x3x+5=45
x3x+5=15
5x=3x+5
2x=5
Quantity of alcohol=4x=2×2x=2×5=10l
Hence the correct option is (C).
