Average molecular mass, M=dRTP
Mmix=dRTPmix
Mmix=1.7×0.0821×2731
=1.7×22.4 gms

=38.1gmol1

Let XCO be the mole fraction of CO
Then mole fraction of CO2 = 1XCO
Since molar masses of CO and CO2 are 28gmol1 and 44gmol1

Mmix=XCO×MCO+(1XCO)×MCO2
38.1=XCO×28+(1XCO)×44
XCO=0.37
