A mixture of Sn and Pb can be separated by equation method.

Solution

Solder an alloy of Sn and Pb contains 60%tin and 40% lead. Electrolysis is not done as they have close values of voltage. If chlorine is blown in mixture at 110-115C in the mixture tin chloride(IV) is formed which is then distilled out and pure lead is obtained.
