Solution

The correct option is B Tjio
Joe Hin Tjio used a technique to study the chromosomes on a glass slide. For this purpose he used the drug colchicine and a dilute salt solution. Colchicine froze the cells at a stage during division when the chromosomes had separated into clearly visible structures and the dilute salt solution spread the chromosomes due to which they could be seen separate from one another. He discovered that the cell had 46 chromosomes. Thus the correct answer is option A.
