Solution
According to Newton's first law of motion:
Newton's first law of motion states that a body at rest will remain at rest and a body in motion will remain in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless an unbalanced force acts on it to change its state of rest or of uniform motion.
From the first law of motion, it is clear that a moving body cannot stop without applying force to it.
A moving body comes to stop due to an outside force ‘friction’ which keeps on decreasing the speed of the body unless it stops.
