(a) River water is a natural form of water present over the earth's surface.

Four kinds of suspended impurities in river water are:

  • Dust, Sand, Clay, Rust, etc.

(b) There are two kinds of dissolved impurities that are present in river water:

  • Chlorides(Cl-1) and Bicarbonates(HCO3-1) of Calcium(Ca), Magnesium(Mg), Sodium(Na) and Iron(Fe).

(c) River water contains dissolved as well as suspended impurities. Therefore it is not safe for drinking.
