Part (a): Chlorophyll:

  1. The leaves contain the pigment called chlorophyll in the chloroplast of the plant cells.
  2. The chlorophyll has the ability to trap the solar energy which is used for the production of food in the form of glucose during photosynthesis.
  3. This pigment is used for producing glucose from carbon dioxide and water. ​

Part (b): Color of chlorophyll:

  1. Chlorophyll is a green colored pigment which is ​present in the chloroplast.
  2. The green parts of the plant like the leaves are rich in chlorophyll which help them perform photosynthesis.
