  • It is obtained from natural vaporization by the sun.
  • The impurities and salts are left behind on the earth and a pure form of water is obtained in the form of rainwater.

(b) No, rainwater is not 100% pure. Impurities present in rainwater are

  • Dust and dissolved gases like Oxygen(O), Nitrogen(N), and Carbon dioxide(CO2)

(c) Sulfur dioxide(SO2) and Nitrogen dioxide(NO2) gas released from industries dissolves in rainwater in the industrial region.

  • These gases raises very high in the atmosphere and mixed with air.
  • These impurity results in acidic rain.
  • Acid rain harms forests and can damage lakes, streams, monuments, etc.
