a) The source of heroin drug is from opium poppy plant. Its scientific name is Papaver somniferum. It is present in the latex of the plant. From the latex, morphine is primarily extracted and then converted to heroin through chemical processes.
b) It mainly causes respiratory depression and gives a feeling of euphoria.
It acts as a depressant and is a highly addictive drug. On extensive use, it could cause kidney problems etc.
