(a) Light reaction and Dark reaction
(b) Sunlight has energy packets, light ionises chlorophyll molecule to release electrons ionise water molecule (H2O rightarrow H+ + OH− ) in photolysis, in which oxygen and water are the by-products.
(c) The three adaptations in a green leaf for photosynthesis are:
(i) Leaves being thin and flat offer a large surface area for the process of photosynthesis to occur.
(ii) Internally, the loose arrangement of mesophyll tissue allows rapid diffusion of gases.
(iii) The high concentration of chloroplant in the mesophyll, especially the palisade cells of dorsiventral leaves helps to trap solar energy required for the process.
