A naturally occurring sample of copper consists of 69% of 63Cu and 31%of 65Cu. The Relative mass is 62.93 and 64.93 respectively. Find the atomic mass of naturally occurring sample of copper.

The average atomic mass of copper can be calculated by :
Average atomic mass is the sum of product of fractional abundance of isotope and atomic mass of that particular isotope.
Average atomic mass = (69 /100 ) × 62.93 + (31 /100) × 64.93
= 43.421 + 20.128
= 62.549 u
