Open in App
Solution

Given that: The speed of light in vacuum is unity
To find: We want to find the distance between the sun and the earth
Using formula,
Distance = Speed x Time
Speed of light in vacuum = 1unit/sec
Time = 500sec

On substituting,

Distance between sun and earth = 1x500 =500units

Therefore, in the new unit the distance between the earth and sun is measured as 500 units.
