Solution

The correct option is A +2
Given,
Radius of ring, R=0.5 m,
Charge on the ring, Q=1.11×1010 C

We know that, the relation between electric potential difference and electric field is,

l=0l=E.dl=Vl=0Vl=...(1)

As per the usual convention, potential at infinity is zero.i.e.,
V=0

So, from eqution (1), we have
l=0l=E.dl=Vl=0...(2)

Now,
Potential at the centre of the ring , whether the charge distribution is uniform or non uniform,
Vl=0=14πϵ0QR

From equation (2),
l=0l=E.dl=14πϵ0QR

Substituting the values,
l=0l=E.dl=(9×109)(1.11×1010)0.5

l=0l=E.dl=2 V

Hence, option (a) is correct answer.
Why this question?
This question will enable students to understand the physical significane of the concept of electric potential.
