The correct option is D $20$ and $50$
Let the numbers be $x$ and $y$
According to the question
$x = \frac{2}{5} y . . . . . . . . . . . . (i)$
$x + y = 70............... (i i)$
$\frac{2}{5} y + y = 70$
$\frac{2 y + 5 y}{5} = 70$
$7 y = 350$
$y = 50$
$x + 50 = 70$
$x = 20$
So the numbers are $20$ and $50$
