A number is divisible by both 2 & 3. Find a smallest positive number, other than 1,2 or 3, that divides the original number completely.

The number which is divisible by both 2 and 3 is also divisible by 6, since 2 and 3 are factors of 6.
6=2×3

Also, 6 is the smallest positive number other than 1,2 or 3, which divides the number(divisible by 2 and 3) without any remainder.
