Let a number be = 1000 Then increase = 10$\%$ $\therefore$ Increased number = $\frac{100\times 100}{100}=110$ Now decrease = 1$\%$ $\therefore$ Decreased number = $\frac{110\times 90}{100}$ = 99 $\therefore$ Difference = 100 - 99 = 1 $\therefore$ $\%$ decrease = 1$\%$
