(a) Of what substance is the fuse wire made ? Why ?

(b) Explain why, a copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire.

(i) Fuse wire is made up of tin-plated copper wire because of its low melting point.
(ii) Pure Copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire because Copper has very high melting point due to which it will not melt easily when a short circuit takes place.
