Linear pair:

Linear pair of angles are formed when two lines intersect each other at a single point. The angles are said to be linear if they are adjacent to each other at the intersection of the two lines.

The sum of angles of linear pair is always equal to 180°.

From the above figure 1 and 2 are adjacent angles.

In the above figure, the opposite ray, which is non-common sides of 1 and 2, forms a line.

1+2=180°

Therefore, A linear pair is two adjacent angles whose non-common sides form opposite rays.
