  • Isobars are atoms of different chemical elements with the same mass number.
  • Mass number is the sum of the number of protons and neutrons.
  • Different chemical elements will have different atomic numbers/numbers of protons.
  • For any neutral element number of electrons will be also equal to the atomic number.
  • Thus a pair of isobars will always have a different number of protons, electrons and neutrons in them.
  • eg;N714 and C614 are isobars
