The correct option is B 4w

We find the parachute landing to rest and at this juncture the force exerted would be the (g+a), that is, both acceleration due to gravity and upward acceleration.

Upward resultant acceleration is 3g and the apparent acceleration on parachutist =3g+g=4g

Force on parachutist=m×4g =4mg=4w

Thus, the parachutist exerts a force of 4w during landing.
