The correct option is A 20 Ω
Given, resistance and reading of the voltmeter is 480 Ω and 96 V respectively.

Current through voltmeter is,

i=VR=96480=15 A

The remaining current flows through resistance R.

Current through the resistance R is ,

IR=515=245 A

Voltage across resistor R is,

V=IR

96=245(R)

R=20 Ω

Hence, option (a) is the correct answer.
