The correct option is B in both umbra and penumbra​
  • When the earth comes in between the sun and the moon, the earth casts its shadow on the moon.
  • The part of the moon which lies within the umbra of the earth, will not be visible from the earth. Thus, the lunar eclipse takes place.
  • But if they are slightly out of line( in both umbra and penumbra, only a part of the moon is in the penumbra of the earth and a partial lunar eclipse occurs.
  • Hence the answer will be Option C - both umbra and penumbra
