For a particle executing SHM starting from mean position, equation can be considered as
x=Asinωt
At t=0,x=0 [mean position]
For nearest extreme position, x=A=Asinωt
sinωt=1 or ωt=π2
2πtT=π2
t=T4


Alternate solution:
For a particle executing SHM, starting from mean position, time period =T, which is time taken by the particle to complete one full oscillation.
One full oscillation consists of motion from mean position to extreme + extreme position to mean position + mean position to the other extreme position + from the other extreme position back to mean position.
t+t+t+t=T
t=T4


Therefore, minimum time taken for the particle to go from MP to EP is T4
