Question

A particle is thrown vertically with a velocity of 50m/s. What will be its velocity at the highest point of the journey? How high would the particle rise? What time would it take to reach the highest point ? (g=10m/s2)

Open in App
Solution

u=50m/s
g=10m/s2
The velocity at the highest point will be zero
Thus, v=0
Height can be calculated as,
v2u2=2gs
02500=20s
s=125m
Time can be calculated as,
v=u+gt
0=50+(10)t
t=5sec
