Question

A particle moves in a circle of radius 2 m and completes 5 revolutions in 10 seconds. Calculate its angular velocity and linear velocity. [3 MARKS]

Open in App
Solution

Angular velocity : 1.5 Marks
Linear velocity : 1.5 Marks

Since, it completes 5 revolutions in 10 s, for 1 revolution it requires 2 s.
Time period = 2 s

(i)Now angular velocity=2πT=2π2=π rad/s

(ii)Linear velocity is given by v=2πRT=2π m/s
