A particle moves in a circle of radius 50cm with a constant speed of 5m/s. Its acceleration is

Open in App
Solution

If a body is moving around a circle, even if it is moving at a constant speed it is accelerating. This is because it is changing direction and a force is there towards the centre.....
a=v^2/r v=5m/s r=50cm=50*10^-2m
so a=(5*5)/(50*10^-2)=50m/s^2..
so acceleration=50m/s^2
