S=(2^i+^j)cos ωt=(2 cos ωt^i+cos ωt^j)x=2 cos ωt . . . . (i)
y=cos ωt . . . . (ii)
Both represent SHM's equations and phase difference ϕ = 0

so resulting motion of particle is S.H.M with
A=A21+A22=4+1=5
