The correct option is D 5m/s
Displacement along East AB=speed×time=15×2=30m

Displacement along North BC=5×8=40m
Thus, total displacement AC=302+402=50m
Total time taken =2 s+8 s=10 s
Average velocity =total displacementtotal time=50 m10 s=5 m/s

The direction of average velocity will be along the displacement, i.e in North-East direction.
