A particle of mass 107 kg is moving in the positive direction of x. Its initial position is x = 0 and initial velocity is 1 m/s. Find the velocity in m/s at x = 10 m, if power at x=0 is 2 watts

Solution
Area under P - x graph =∫Pdx =∫(mdvdt)vdx =∫v1mv2dv=[mv33]v1 =107×3(v3−1) ...(1)
From graph area, =12×(2+4)×10=30 ...(2)
From (1) and (2), 107×3(v3−1)=30 =v=4m/s

Tip: Manupulations in the formula are done in a way so as to express it in variables, we have information about- P=F.v=ma.v, but we write a as vdv/dx since we have information about v and x)
