A particle starts moving from point A, along a rectangular plot via the path shown. If the time taken to reach the point E (where E is midpoint of D and C) be 0.5 s, then find the average speed and average velocity of the particle.

Distance = 1= + 12 + 5 = 27 m
Displacement = straight path from A to E
=52+122=13m
Average speed
=distancetime=270.5=54ms1
Average velocity =displacementtime
