Let, $A B C D$ be a square garden of side $= 30 m$
$P Q R S$ be region inside the garden

$P Q = (30 - 1 - 1) = 28 m$

$P S = (30 - 1 - 1) = 28 m$

Area of path $= (A r e a o f A B C D - A r e a o f P Q R S)$

$= 30 \times 30 - 28 \times 28$

$= 900 - 784$

$= 116 s q . m$
