Solution

The correct option is C 130
Cardiac output is defined as the amount of blood pumped by heart in a minute. It is calculated as the product of heart rate (number of heart contractions or beats per minute also called pulse rate) and stroke volume (amount of blood each ventricle of heart pumps in 1 contraction) i.e.,

Cardiac Output = Heart Rate X Stroke Volume ______(i)

Given: Cardiac output of patient = 6500 ml
Stroke Volume of patient = 50 ml

To find: Heart rate or pulse rate in beats per minute

Calculation: Replacing given values in equation (i),

6500 = Heart Rate X 50
Rearranging we get,

Heart Rate = 650050=130 beats per minute

Hence, the pulse rate of the patient is 130 beats per minute.
