When ball falls its speed goes on increasing first due to gravitational acceleration but due to air resistance an opposing upward force also goes on increasing , that will decrease the rate of acceleration , after some time air resistance and weight of ball will be equal to each other and now there is no net force to accelerate the ball so ,ball comes down with a constant velocity ,called terminal velocity.
