Solution

The correct options are
B Side 'B' was the leeward side of the mountain range.
C Side 'A' was the windward side of the mountain range.
When heavy rain-filled clouds move across the land and come across an obstruction like a mountain range, they tend to stop. This results in a downpour on that particular side of the mountain. This side is called the windward side.
Once the clouds are lighter after having lost some of the moisture content, they move up and go over to the other side of the mountain. Now, since most of the moisture has been lost, the other side receives a lot less rainfall. This side is called the leeward side.
