Question

A person in a moving train tosses a coin which falls behind him. It means that the motion of the train is _____ (accelerated, uniform, retarded, along circular tracks).

Solution

Dear Student,

The train is accelerating. As the horizontal velocity of the coin will be same as the velocity of the train as it was when it left the passenger's hand. Thus the velocity of the coin remains same but the velocity of the increases in the mean time. And thus the train covers more distance than the coin and the coin falls behind the passenger
