Solution

Dear student.

Humidity ca be easily defined as amount of water vapour in air. The effect of high humidity indicates the likelihood if fog or precipitation. Also, if the humidity is high, we sweat more but our sweat is not evaporated much. As a result we feel hot. This is commonly seen in coastal areas like Mumbai, Kolkata etc. Thus at less humidity one feels more comfortable.

Humidity is seen in three ways:

i. Absolute humidity: It is the water content in air.

ii. Relative humidity: It is the current absolute humidity relative to the maximum humidity for that temperature. It is expressed in percentage.

iii. Specific humidity: It can be defined as the ratio of mass of water vapour to per unit mass of dry air.

Humidity is measured using hygrometer. Satellites are also used to determine humidity around the world.

Regards.
